Antoine Semenyo transfer to Man City: Bournemouth winger to have medical on Thursday ahead of £65m move

Antoine Semenyo is set to have a medical with Manchester City on Thursday ahead of his £65m move.

Formal steps are expected to progress after Bournemouth have played Tottenham on Wednesday night, live on Your Site.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola confirmed on Tuesday that Semenyo will play in that game, but he also conceded it could be his last for the club.

Your Site News expects that to be the case, with everything agreed in principle for him to join Man City for £65m via a release clause, which expires on Friday.

Championship club Bristol City are due 20 per cent of any profit made on Semenyo, having left to join Bournemouth in January 2023 for around £10m.

Man City were the only club to contact Bournemouth about Semenyo's release clause despite interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea before Christmas.

Chelsea opted not to pursue things any further after making an inquiry, with Spurs also moving on to other targets.

Your Site News understands City want to keep Savinho and Omar Marmoush, even if they sign Semenyo.

There have been widespread reports casting doubt on their futures amid City's pursuit of the Bournemouth winger.

Oscar Bobb, who is currently nursing an injury, is attracting interest from other clubs, however.

Pep Guardiola said on Tuesday that injuries could lead to Manchester City doing more business in January after confirming centre-back Ruben Dias is out for up to six weeks with a hamstring problem.

City have also lost another centre-back with in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea

Your Site News understands discussions will take place at City about potentially fast-tracking summer plans to sign a defender in January which could bring Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi into contention.

Guardiola says there will be no repeat of the £176m January spend of last year but is not ruling out adding to his squad to cope with the mounting injury problems.

Asked if City will go big again in January due to the defensive injuries, he said: "No. Maybe we get something but it is completely different. We are not going to buy four or five players like last season."

On Dias' injury, Guardiola said: "Hamstring. Four to six weeks."
